How to read a comparison

Every race has one column per candidate, with these sections.

  1. The profile Current role, background, experience and priorities, each linked to its source. Facts that come only from a campaign say so.
  2. In their own words Under “Tidbits”: each candidate’s quoted statements on the same set of topics, linked to the source. If none was found, it reads “No public statement found”.
  3. Endorsements, with labels Organizations and people with a public role. A label such as (primary) shows when an endorsement was made for the primary only.
  4. Claims and the record For certain offices: widely covered claims and controversies, with the documented outcome and the candidate’s response. At most five per candidate.

What this guide is, and is not

It is

  • A side-by-side layout of the candidates in every contested race in all 254 Texas counties.
  • Sourced. Every section links to the page it came from.
  • Checked twice. Each profile was researched, then re-checked against its sources.

It is not

  • An endorsement. We do not rate or characterize candidates.
  • Your personal ballot. The races you see depend on your address.
  • Affiliated with, or a replacement for, any election office.
  • Error-free. Information comes from public sources and campaign websites and may contain errors. Report errors to admin@uspoliticalhub.com.
