1. What this policy covers
USPoliticalHub.Com/US Political Hub, Inc. is an independent information service about candidates, elected and appointed officials, legislation, and related public records. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who receives it, and the choices you have. It applies to the website, accounts, comments, messages sent to offices through the site, subscriptions, and related emails.
It does not apply to an official office, a campaign, or a payment processor after information has been delivered to them. Those recipients have their own rules.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: name, home address, email address, cell phone number, password, and optional display name.
- Comment information: the text of a comment or reply, the time, and the display name or account name attached to it.
- Message-to-office information: legal name, home address, and message text you enter so we can transmit a message to an elected or appointed official. We ask for this because most offices discard anonymous mail.
- Candidate or official submissions: biography, photo, statements, campaign or office contacts, and verification materials the person or an authorized agent submits.
- Subscription and billing contacts: name, email, billing address, and the plan selected. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor. We store a token, the card brand, and the last four digits, not the full card number.
- Support mail: whatever you include in an email or form to us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and the date and time of the visit.
- Approximate location derived from the IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Cookie and similar identifiers used for sign-in, security, and basic audience measurement. See Section 8.
Information from public sources
Candidate filings, official directories, campaign websites, and legislative records may include names, office phone numbers, office emails, and campaign contacts. We treat those as public-record or campaign-published contacts. We do not add home addresses, personal cell numbers, or family details from those sources.
Information we do not want
Do not send us Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government ID numbers, or health information. Do not post another person's home address, personal phone number, or private email in a comment.
3. How we use information
- To operate accounts, display comments, and transmit messages you direct to an office.
- To publish candidate and official profiles you or they submit, after the verification step described in the Terms.
- To secure the site, investigate abuse, enforce the Terms and Community Rules, and detect fraud.
- To process subscriptions and send service email or texts about the account, a message you sent, or a change to this policy.
- To measure aggregate use of pages, such as which bills or races are read. We use this to run the service, not to build a voter file.
- To comply with law, a lawful request, or a legal claim.
We do not use commenter or message-sender information to score political views, sell voter profiles, or target political ads at individuals. Paid political advertisements, if we run them, are labeled and placed by page or race, not by a profile of the reader.
4. Who receives information
Offices and campaigns you contact
If you send a message through the site, we transmit the name, postal address, and message text you entered to the office or campaign contact you selected. That recipient may keep the message under its own public-records or campaign rules. We do not control that copy.
Service providers
Vendors that host the site, send email or texts, process payments, or provide security may process personal information for us under contracts that limit their use to the service they provide. Current categories: hosting, website analytics (Google Analytics), email and text delivery, payment processing, and security logging.
Legal and safety
We may disclose information if we believe it is required by law, legal process, or a government request, or if it is necessary to protect a person, the public, or the service. We may also disclose information in a merger or sale of the entity, and we will post notice if that happens.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not share or allow others to use personal information.
- We do not give a candidate the private email or street address of a commenter unless the commenter put that information in a message directed to that candidate or office.
- We do not publish the street address entered for a message to an office.
5. Comments and public posts
A comment is visible to other users under the display name you choose. Do not include your street address, phone number, or information about another private person in the comment text. You can delete your own comment from the account. We may remove a comment that breaks the Community Rules. Deletion removes it from the public page. Copies may remain in backups for up to 90 days, and a message already sent to an office is not recalled.
6. How long we keep information
- Account data: while the account is open, then 24 months, unless a legal hold applies.
- Comments: until you delete them or we remove them, then backup cycle of 90 days.
- Messages to offices: our copy for 24 months. The office's copy is outside this policy.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules require, generally 7 years for invoices.
- Security logs: 12 months.
We may keep a limited record of an enforcement action, such as an account closure for threats, for as long as needed to prevent a repeat.
7. Your choices and requests
- Access or correct account information in settings, or by emailing admin@stg-fortbendranchersball-staging.kinsta.cloud.
- Delete the account in settings. Deletion removes the login and, where feasible, the display name on future views. It does not recall a message already delivered to an office.
- Opt out of marketing email by the link in the message. Service email about security, a message you sent, or this policy will still be sent.
- Appeal a denied privacy request by replying to the denial or emailing admin@stg-fortbendranchersball-staging.kinsta.cloud. We will respond within 45 days.
If the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act applies to us, a Texas resident may request access, correction, deletion, and a copy of personal data, and may appeal a denial.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and similar tools that are necessary to keep you signed in, to protect the site, and to remember a privacy choice. We use Google Analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are read. Google provides this service for us and receives the device and log data described in Section 2. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block cookies in the browser. Blocking the sign-in cookie will keep you from staying logged in.
9. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it. Users under 18 may not use this site.
10. Security
We use access controls, encryption in transit, and limited staff access to message-to-office data. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. Please use a unique password.
11. Changes
We may update this policy by posting a new version and changing the effective date. If a change is material, we will email account holders when we have an address. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the update.
