Claims and the record
  • A District Judge appointed Dr. Wong to County Judge position after suspending County Judge K.P. George. Wong is the Republican Candidate for County Judge in the November 2026 Election. His Democrat Opponent is his fellow Commissioners Court Member, Commissioner Pct. 4 Dexter McCoy. The Democrats in the county loudly objected to the appointment. Fort Bend’s Democrat County Attorney, Bridgette Smith-Lawson brought legal action to remove Wong from office in what several attorneys characterize as a “meritless action”. The District Judge has refused to reverse his Order of Appointment, and no higher court has reversed the District Judge. Wong has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in his defense and the Fort Bend Taxpayers have likewise spent a large sum of money on the case. Republicans in the county have stated they believe the action was taken to give the impression Wong has done something improper or illegal, like his predecessor K.P. George, who was elected as a Democrat but switched to the Republican Party after the Democrat D.A. indicted him.
